BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – A private online university is offering exceptionally inexpensive college degree programs to all Americans. Andrew Jackson University president Don Kassner stated, “We are ‘bailing out’ college students who enroll in any of our eleven degree programs. The government’s American Opportunity Tax Credit, coupled with our unique sponsored tuition program, can bring a student’s cost for tuition, fees and books down to near zero.”

The new American Opportunity Tax Credit provides up to $2,500 in cash credit against an individual’s personal income tax if enrolled in an institution of higher learning recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The individual cannot have adjusted gross income of $80,000 or higher and, if married, joint income of $160,000 to qualify for the tax credit.

With Andrew Jackson University’s sponsored tuition program, which waives tuition, an undergraduate may take up to four online courses per semester for fees totaling $350 plus exam costs of $120 and about $400 for new books. Many courses have an e-book or used books option. New enrollees pay one-time application and enrollment fees totaling $200. “Our students can attend college full time for about $900 a semester,” Kassner stated, “and with the American Opportunity Tax Credit they get the entire $900 back in the form of a tax credit for their first two semesters, and can get a partial credit on a third semester taken within a calendar year.”

While students attending any accredited college or university are eligible for the tax credit, the high tuition and fees at most schools will require the student to come up with several thousand dollars to pay for courses. “Not so at AJU,” commented university president Kassner, “because we understand how tough it is for folks nowadays, and we have cut our own costs to the bone and passed the savings on to our students.”

Andrew Jackson University is an accredited institution offering three master’s, three bachelor’s and five associate’s degrees, all online. The university, while located in Birmingham, Alabama, has students throughout the world. AJU’s unique sponsored tuition program eliminates tuition and drastically reduces the cost of college for its students, most of whom are working adults.
